Come si dice.... Massage?

After a face stuffing session in Campigna, we ventured to a little town called Bagno di Romagna and checked into luxurious Hotel delle Terme Santa Agnese

Two robes and towels awaiting me in my room

The view of Bagno di Romagna from my room. There was live music playing all day from a nearby restaurant.

Such a cute little town..

Once us bloggers were all checked into our gorgeous hotel rooms, we were given our appointment times for our massages. Yup, you read right. Free massages. Nicola and I had some time to kill before our appointments so we headed to the thermal pool. Most of the hotels in Bagno di Romagna are wellness centers with bagni termi-- thermal baths that are filled with hot mineral water that is collected from the rocks on the left bank of the Savio river. This water is used to treat some diseases and is believed to promote wellness and youth.

The funny part? The Italians often call it "stinky water". Because it kind of stinks. Like eggs. So... yeah.

After a dip in the thermal pool (we had to wear swim caps, I felt like a minion), we threw our robes back on and headed to our thirty minute massages. I'd never had a massage before, it was phenomenal... and how many people can say that they got their first massage at a thermal spa in Italy?

  1. Great shots from the hotel room! I opened the window and a yellow jacket flew in. I was too lazy to chase it out so I just let down the drapes and hope it didn't come through. I basically told it I'd share the room if it didn't get all stingy and crap.

    Great pics :)

  8. Massage is meant as relaxing, and sometimes this happens, and can happen with most anyone. Would you prefer paper tissue or a hand towel to clean yourself up 토닥이
